A short time ago I had a little rant about the al-Qaeda myth that lots of folk seem to have bought into¹ . Inspired me to think about assembling all the various bits and pieces of stuff I’ve amassed over the years and putting it all up on the main website (I’m still thinking about it at the mo’, mainly cos I really don’t relish the task of having to trawl through all the files I appear to have acquired!).

Anyway - talk about synchronicity - what should happen to pop up on MySpace today? This intriguing little clip; apparently its an excerpt from the documentary “The Power of Nightmares” that was broadcast by the BBC in 2004 - available in three parts on Google Video² …

Listening to how Osama bin Laden became demonised into some sort of fiendish mastermind started ringing bells for me, a la “working to a tried and tested formula” so to speak. Anyone remember the Fu Manchu series of novels by Sax Rohmer?Returning to the 9/11 theme, I remain unconvinced that the attack could have been planned, organised, implemented, and indeed co-ordinated to such a remarkable degree (to say nothing of the events immediately following the initial attacks) absent State backing at a high level. And by”State backing” I refer at the very least to the support of one or more State intelligence organisations.Moreover, my understanding is that there’s perhaps only a half-dozen or so countries running Intelligence Agencies that’d be up to the task - and the only Middle Eastern country that’s included in that “half-dozen or so” is Israel; i.e., not Iraq, not Iran, not Syria, etc etc. And of the others, we’re looking at the likes of the US, the UK, etc.Here’s a possible clue… look at which countries have been cashing in most on the events of 9/11 to ramp up their security budgets, introduce seemingly endless legislation restricting the rights of their citizens, introduce even more seemingly endless legislation giving ever greater powers to the State, and so on.Go figure!Looking at how the mainstream media are so quick to debunk and discredit “conspiracy theories” one can’t help wonder why they’ve so avidly bought into the al-Qaeda myth (when just basic research would raise some very penetrating questions) which is arguably one of the biggest conspiracy theories doing the rounds.

As a general rule I try to avoid reposting stuff here that I’ve already posted on the main TaW site - the two sites were intended to serve two somewhat different purposes. However, if I think the subject-matter merits it then I don’t really mind bending my own rule a bit, and this post is one of those occasions.

The reason I’m bending the rule this time is cos I think the subject-matter’s quite important, and because the relevant TaW page is not particularly easy to find if one’s just casually surfing.

Essentially the page in question is a list of selected links to a variety of resources. Here’s the reposted intro:

Carefully and objectively examining all the evidence, witness testimonies and documentation about 9/11 that is now available in the public domain, I cannot see how any rational person can come to a conclusion other than that the “official” explanation of the 9/11 event (with particular regard to the collapse of the Twin Towers) requires us to accept that the natural Laws of Physics were inexplicably and magically suspended on that day.
And if the official explanation of the Twin Towers’ collapse is wanting, then so too may be the apportioning of the blame by the Bush administration.

Examine the evidence, the witness testimonies, and the commentaries for yourself - and then remind yourself that 9/11 was the trigger event for Bush’s bombing of Afghanistan, invasion of Iraq, declaration of the so-called “War on Terror”, and continuing encroachments upon the civil liberties of the American people.

But, I contend, it is a mistake to examine 9/11 out of context, as a stand-alone event. It could not have, and did not, “spring from nowhere”.
This applies equally whether the official explanation is correct or not. And, equally, 9/11 could not have been executed without detailed long-term planning and sophisticated preparations.
If the official explanation is not correct (and all the indications appear to point in this direction) then I suspect time could beneficially be spent examining some of the events that were occurring on the American economic scene in the months prior to 9/11 - an unfolding of matters that were suddenly and dramatically wiped from public attention by 9/11.
Moreover it could be equally as beneficial to look at the controversies surrounding the Presidential election that first put George Bush into the White House. I find it difficult to avoid the conclusion that this move was engineered specifically to ensure that GBW would be the “9/11 President”.

Khalid Shaikh Mohammed “Confessed” To Attacking Bank Founded After His Arrest

Khalid Shaikh Mohammeds alleged confession testimony has been thoroughly discredited after it emerged that one of the targets he identified, the Plaza Bank, was not founded until 2006, four years after the alleged Al-Qaeda masterminds arrest.In his confession, KSM claims, “I was responsible for planning, training, surveying, and financing for the New or Second Wave of attacks against the following skyscrapers after 9/11: …Plaza Bank, Washington state.”

KSM was arrested in March 2003. According to the Plaza Banks website, the organization was founded in early 2006, making it impossible for KSM to have even known of the banks existence before 2003, never mind plotted against it.

Skepticism about the legitimacy of KSMs confession has gushed forth from all quarters, leaving the credibility of the Pentagon and the process of military tribunals in ruins and provoking additional questions about why the alleged Al-Qaeda mastermind admitted to involvement in such a vast range of plots.

» Berlin Humboldt University Bans 9/11 Film - RINF Alternative News

Humbold University in Berlin cancelled a planned presentation of the film Loose Change scheduled for November 3, 2006, with only two days notice to the organizers.

Three young Americans created the film Loose Change, which examines unanswered questions with regard to the attacks of September, 11, 2001, and made it available over the internet in mid-2005. The film calls the official story into question and shows, among other things, a series of contraditions which still demand explanation. The film makers appeal to the public to examine the evidence and judge for themselves whether or not the official claims about the events can possibly be true.

Loose Change contains a wealth of evidence which indicates that the 911 attacks were a false-flag operation staged by the Bush administration in order to justify a so-called “war against terror” to promote their geo-political interests.

The film “Loose Change” has been downloaded over 70 million on Google Video and is thus the first international blockbuster. The version with German subtitles has been viewed 2,000,000 times on the internet since June, 2006. Television stations in France, Israel, Italy, Poland, Belgium, Holland, and Australia have show “Loose Change.” Even Hollywood has shown interest — a large studio is in negotiations to co-produce a version for film theaters, which is scheduled to premier at the USA’s Sundance Film Festival in spring 2007.

It is highly questionable that a film from the United States, which calls on viewers to educate themselves and form their own opinions, would be censored at Humboldt University. This is unusual for a German instiution of higher education, especially in view of the fact that the film “Loose Change” has been shown at dozens of US universities without similar attempts at censorship. It has furthermore been copied by thousands of US students and widely distributed on US colleges and universities. Humboldt University is a former east german university and had problems with censoring before during the Nazi era as well as during the communist period. In Germany usually only films with extremly violent, racist or pornographic content would be censored.

A free presentation of this film for the general public was planned for November 3, 2006 in the Film Theater of the Humboldt University; it was officially approved in early October and this was confirmed in both written and spoken form. The agreement was annulled by the office of the president of the university (signed by Mr. Kuhring) only two days prior to the planned presentation. This unjustified action was based on an alleged technicality. This are extracts from the 2 page letter sent to the student from the office of the President of Humboldt University :

…”The film ‘Loose Change’ covers the terrorist acts of September, 11th in the USA and makes allegations that refer to a direct responsibility of the president of the United States and other people within the US administration, but also to people within the economic system and the society.”

“The film contains racist and discriminating allegations, the distribution of which within the public domain cannot be supported. Furthermore, the distribution could damage the image of the Federal Republic of Germany and could compromise international cooperation. It could also result in a loss of reputation in the event that Humboldt University should be mentioned in this context.”

“The film is a failure, it presents unacademic assertions and prejudices and pretends pseudo-academic evidence, not scientific in any respect, both in the American scientific community and in the European scientific community.”…..

On November, 3 after a cancellation notice was placed on the website of the event, free DVDs of “Loose Change” were handed out to about 150 people who still came to see the film. Several businesses in Berlin support the film — a hairdresser, a CD shop, a bar, a new age store, a filmstudio, and an art gallery distribute “Loose Change” for free. So far in Berlin 10000 DVDs have been mailed and handed out through these outlets. Small ads for the film appear on a continuous basis in Berlin magazines and newspapers. The film was shown in small theaters and at a Berlin -Potsdam Film Festival.

As of Saturday 11/4 one german daily newspaper, the Berliner Zeitung has covered the ban on the event.
