A word of reassurance…
… for all my 1000’s of visitors. (Oops! My finger must’ve slipped and I inadvertently typed in an extra coupla zeroes.)
You haven’t come to the wrong place!
Given that this blog was actually my very first self-hosted one and indeed my first real attempt at blogging (I now gravitate between a half-dozen or so of the little buggers) I’ve always retained a bit of an affection for it, and still regard it as my “principal blog”, sorta thing.
Its somehow acquired for me the same sense of comfort that a well-worn jacket possesses, or an old pair of shoes. Which may explain why, right up until now, I’ve stuck with the same old theme. One I’d chosen right at the very beginning, and an attempt to maintain a degree of consistency in appearance between this blog and its parent site, Tilting at Windmills.
“Same old theme” is about right though. For some months now I’d been looking at it and feeling it was getting a bit worn around the edges. And it didn’t include some of the useful features found in newer themes (it wasn’t widget-aware, for example).
With a bit of hacking around on my part no doubt I could have overcome most of those shortcomings… but I also felt in the mood for a more radical change.
So decided to install a completely different theme, and one that included all the features found in the more recent ones available (and to which I’ve become accustomed through my other blogs).
Here we are then. The brand new (in appearance anyway) “yet another blog”. Same sort of stuff. Same sort of viewpoint. Just a completely new look.
