al-Qaeda video

A short time ago I had a little rant about the al-Qaeda myth that lots of folk seem to have bought into1 . Inspired me to think about assembling all the various bits and pieces of stuff I’ve amassed over the years and putting it all up on the main website (I’m still thinking about it at the mo’, mainly cos I really don’t relish the task of having to trawl through all the files I appear to have acquired!).

Anyway - talk about synchronicity - what should happen to pop up on MySpace today? This intriguing little clip; apparently its an excerpt from the documentary “The Power of Nightmares” that was broadcast by the BBC in 2004 - available in three parts on Google Video2

Listening to how Osama bin Laden became demonised into some sort of fiendish mastermind started ringing bells for me, a la “working to a tried and tested formula” so to speak. Anyone remember the Fu Manchu series of novels by Sax Rohmer?Returning to the 9/11 theme, I remain unconvinced that the attack could have been planned, organised, implemented, and indeed co-ordinated to such a remarkable degree (to say nothing of the events immediately following the initial attacks) absent State backing at a high level. And by”State backing” I refer at the very least to the support of one or more State intelligence organisations. Moreover, my understanding is that there’s perhaps only a half-dozen or so countries running Intelligence Agencies that’d be up to the task - and the only Middle Eastern country that’s included in that “half-dozen or so” is Israel; i.e., not Iraq, not Iran, not Syria, etc etc. And of the others, we’re looking at the likes of the US, the UK, etc. Here’s a possible clue… look at which countries have been cashing in most on the events of 9/11 to ramp up their security budgets, introduce seemingly endless legislation restricting the rights of their citizens, introduce even more seemingly endless legislation giving ever greater powers to the State, and so on.Go figure!Looking at how the mainstream media are so quick to debunk and discredit “conspiracy theories” one can’t help wonder why they’ve so avidly bought into the al-Qaeda myth (when just basic research would raise some very penetrating questions) which is arguably one of the biggest conspiracy theories doing the rounds.

al-Qaeda a front for something else?

Further to my post of 12th April re al-Qaeda in Africa, starting to browse around the web (before I resort to rummaging through my absolutely massive archive of offline material - an onerous task!) I happened to come across this interesting little gem…

“Letter from A. K. Dewdney, Coordinator Scientific Panel Investigating Nine-eleven to the Directors of major Intelligence organisations in the US, Great Britain, and elsewhere”

You’ll find it at Physics911 - well worth reading.

Algeria attack and the al-Qaeda penetration of Africa

Another Day in the Empire

It is sincerely mysterious “al-Qaeda” has a knack of showing up in places targeted by the neocons. For instance, Africa, in particular Somalia and, more recently, Algeria. “Terrorist bomb attacks in Algeria yesterday show al-Qaeda and its allies pose a ‘very real threat’ in North Africa, the U.S. State Department said,” reports Bloomberg. “Al-Qaeda is a ‘current and persistent’ threat in the region, department spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters in Washington yesterday…. Islamic militants are becoming more active in North Africa, particularly in the Maghreb region of Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria where they have joined forces with al-Qaeda.”

Hmm… this reminds me… I’ve never totally bought into the “al-Qaeda” myth. Goes right back to the very early days of Bush’s “War on Terror”… I recollect reading a number of articles exploring the genesis of this mysterious “terrorist organisation” most of which, as I remember, seemed to tie it in to certain unsavoury types in the American Establishment.

I’ll see if I can locate them. Might make for an interesting “Briefing” page on the main TaW site.

Once upon a time, George Bush said: “All who live in tyranny and hopelessness can know: The United States will not ignore your oppression, or excuse your oppressors. When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you.” Somalia was probably the last place he had in mind when he made this announcement.

It was only a matter of time before the mask slipped and the US played its hand. Only a matter of time before the Ethiopians refused to abide by the status quo and carry out deeds hatched and plotted in Washington.

The president of Somalia, Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed, made his loyalty clear by laying his cards face up on his marble table. A spokesman said the air strike was based on “credible intelligence”, which in human speak means, was flawed beyond measure and obtained through nefarious means. Not seeming to care whether there have been civilian fatalities, Mr Ahmed spoke of his support of the American AC 130 bombing from his presidential palace in Mogadishu, claiming “America has the right to hunt down and air bombard wherever those who were responsible for bombing its embassies in East Africa are staying or hiding.”

And of those who are dead? Have they been identified as an al-Qaida cell? Rest assured that this is a message, coming through loud and clear: do as we say, not as we do. Anyone guilty of not toeing the line will be dealt with precisely and without discrimination. And that is what the US has done. The employment of air strikes by American forces that are employed to kill or maim hundreds has again signalled a complete lack of value for human life. And above all, has anybody mentioned that another fantastic recruiting ground has just been created, courtesy of Washington? Unless matters cease, this will most certainly turn into another Iraq.

US INVADES IRAN territory Today Jan 11- An Underreported Story

US INVADES IRAN territory Today Jan 11- An Underreported Story - Indian-American Org Sam Rao

US troops stormed into an Iranian consulate in Kurdish part of Iraq and seized equipment, computers and personnel. about 6 people were detained as US troops reportedly entered the Consulate of Iran.
As is well known and accepted by International law, Consulates and Embassies etc are over in territory and diplomatic immunity extends to the countries’ representatives & officials.

In a semantic sense, ” the War of Terror” is something most sane people will agree with. However, in the name of the War on Terror, its amazing how international and domestic laws are being totally bypassed.

This act of entering a consulate is definitely an act of War against a sovereign nation.
The “bending of rules” for the war on terror against Al Qaeda- a non government, unofficial entity- doesnot apply as Iran is a Republic and a nation state.

Interesting that this news has been under-reported!
