Bedford launches antiTrident!
Joining in with the larger national opposition to the replacement of Trident nuclear missiles, Bedford re-launched its own Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament on 18th September last.
Apparently that initial meeting was very successful, and has led to a second meeting being called to plan a local action campaign which, as well as covering the inevitable letter-writing, petititons, etc, could also be in the form of demonstrations or vigils.
The next meeting is on Thursday 5th October, 1930hrs, at the Friends Meeting House, 6 Lansdowne Road, Bedford.
More information’s available on 01234 359976 or 01234 352273.
Bullet-point objections to Trident replacement:
It would break the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which Britain’s signed;
Their use is immoral and indiscriminate;
They cost too much;
Its not an “independent deterrent”.
